King oyster mushroom, often used interchangeably with king trumpet mushroom or royal trumpet mushroom, have a dense chewy texture and rich umami flavor that is comparable to meat or seafood. These mushrooms are eaten mostly for their long, flavorful stems rather than their caps. King oyster mushrooms are commonly used as a meat substitute due to their excellent consistency and taste. Hokto's mushrooms are grown in a soil-free environment and do not need to be washed.


Uses: Grill or roast these mushrooms until deeply caramelized with a generous amount of salt, pepper, butter, and thyme to best bring out their flavor.


These king oysters are larger versions of king trumpet mushroom with a smaller cap and larger stem.
