Ivory mango, also referred to as Vietnamese or Thai mango, is a tropical fruit named for their large size and elongated shape which resembles the tusk of a young elephant. These mangoes are highly coveted due to their limited season and exceptionally good eating qualities. These fruits are the quintessence of mango with a heady aroma and fragrance with an incredible sweetness that is made more noticeable by the lack of acidity. The flesh is silky in texture and low in fibers with a succulent bite that oozes fresh juice. These highly prized mangoes are a top class of fruit with a majority of them being exported to Japan.
These mangoes are ready to eat despite their green appearance. They can left to ripen at room temperature for a softer texture if desired. Each mango weighs about 2 lbs.
