Edible bird's nest, also known as swallow's nest, are a delicacy made from the solidified saliva of edible-nest swiftlets. They are primarily found in Southeast Asia, and are a luxury food due to their high cost and scarcity. Edible bird's nests are favored for their gelatinous texture traditionally used in sweet or savory soups. They have numerous health benefits such as promoting radiant skin, boosting the immune system, and anti-aging properties.
These edible bird's nests are imported from Malaysia which produces some of the best quality raw bird's nests. They undergo a strenuous hand-cleaning process to ensure complete removal of natural impurities. Traditional bird's nest needs to be soaked for 2-3 hours before cooking but these ready-to-cook bird's nests can be cooked instantly without requiring any additional preparation. Fresh bird's nest soup can be made in less than 30 minutes.
Uses: Simmer one piece of bird's nest with 150 ml (5 oz) of water and cook for 30 minutes or until gelatinous. Add other ingredients such as rock sugar, snow lotus seed, lotus seed, goji berry, and jujube.
