Spinach is a leafy plant in the amaranth family that is commonly eaten as a vegetable booth cooked and raw. It has a mild vegetal flavor and particularly nutrient dense and is a good source of carotenoid, vitamin K, vitamin C, iron, and calcium. Whole spinach should always be washed thoroughly with the roots trimmed off before use.
Uses: Spinach is excellent in salads and pair well with cheese and nuts. Add it to your smoothies. Cooked spinach make excellent addition to omelets and quiches.
