Snow peas are edible pea-pods that are flat and thin with small seeds. The peas and pod are both edible cooked or raw. Snow peas are remarkably tender with a sweet flavor that is lightly vegetal. This vegetable needs very little preparation aside from removing the fibrous string that runs along the stem. The snow pea plant is commonly harvested young and eaten as a vegetable in Asian cuisine. Sugar snap peas are a similar variety with more sweetness.
