Pink guava, also known as tropical pink guava or red guava, are a tropical fruit native to Central America. They have a green to yellow skin with a creamy pink or white flesh that is full of aroma. Ripe pink guavas are immensely sweet with a strong and distinctive guava flavor splashed with notes of pineapple, passion fruit, and mangosteen.
Uses: Guavas should be left to ripen at room temperature to intensify their flavor and sweetness. The entire fruit is edible but the seeds and peel can be removed relatively easily if desired. Guavas are naturally high in pectin and make for great jam, jellies, and fillings when cooked.
Guavas are fully ripe when soft to the touch and intensely aromatic.
