Leeks are a vegetable in the same genus as garlic, onions, and chives. They are sweet, aromatic, and vegetal. Leeks lend a distinctive herbaceous flavor to stews, soups, braises, and stir-fry dishes. Our farm fresh leeks come whole from the farm with roots attached. They are picked for optimal flavor so sizes of the individual leeks may vary.
Uses: Slice the whites and light-green portions of the leek finely and use in stir-fry dishes. The heartier, green leaves can be added to your favorite braised dishes such as hong shao rou.
