Leeks are a vegetable in the same genus as garlic, onions, and chives. They are sweet, aromatic, and vegetal. Leeks lend a distinctive herbaceous flavor to stews, soups, braises, and stir-fry dishes. Our farm fresh leeks come whole from the farm with roots attached. They are picked for optimal flavor so sizes of the individual leeks may vary.
Uses: Slice the whites and light-green portions of the leek finely and use in stir-fry dishes. The heartier, green leaves can be added to your favorite braised dishes such as Hong Shao Rou.
Leeks taste like onions that have stepped it up. Each bunch varies between 3 to 6 pieces and averages 1.5 to 2 lbs.
