Kumquats are a small seasonal citrus fruit prized for its skin. Each fruit is about the size of an olive. Unlike most other citrus fruits, kumquats have an delicious and edible rind and pith that tastes sweet, floral, and intensely citrusy. The center is tart similar to a lemon.
Uses: Kumquats can be used in a variety of ways: they are popular eaten whole, used to make jams, or sliced thinly and used to garnish sashimi, crudo, and grilled meats or fish.
