Gai lan is a variety of broccoli that has a long history of cultivation. Broccolini is a hybrid of gai lan and conventional broccoli. Chinese broccoli is tender with a flavorful and fragrant with a flavor that is reminiscent of broccoli rabe with noticeably less bitterness. The stem, leaves, and flowers are all edible.
Uses: Stir-fry gai lan with ginger, garlic, and your favorite sauce! Blanch in salted water and top with oyster sauce. Chop some up and add it into your fried rice!
