Red anjous are a rare variant of pear resulting from naturally occurring bud sports on green anjou pear trees. They have crimson skin with a juicy white flesh. They are mild and sweet flavor with a smooth texture and abundant juiciness when ripe. Red anjou pears ripen at room temperature and is fully ripe when the pear gives slightly when pressing on the flesh near the stem.
