Kiwifruit, also known as the Chinese gooseberry, is a fuzzy-skinned berry originating from China and widely cultivated in New Zealand. Hayward green kiwis are the world's most popular variety. They are full-flavored, sweet, and refreshingly acidic.
Uses: Kiwis make a great addition to smoothies or fruit salads. Kiwifruit contain enzymes that tenderize meat: add a crushed kiwis to your marinades to tenderize tough cuts of meat.
