Lemon plums are a relatively new stone fruit from Chile that gets their name from their resemblance to lemons. They have yellow skin that changes color as they mature. Lemon plums are crisp, crunchy, and sweet-tart when yellow but transforms into an incredibly soft, juicy, and sweet treat when fully ripe. These plums have a remarkably sweet and refreshing flavor with a citrus aftertaste.
Uses: Plums are excellent eaten raw or as a topping for frozen desserts, tarts, or pies. Chopped plums can be cooked gently over a low heat with sugar to make a delicious syrup or compote.
