Blueberries are the fruits of the perennial flowering plant of the same name. They are categorized into two main types based on the size of the fruit. Low-bush blueberries are synonymous with wild variants that yield small pea-sized fruit. High-bush blueberries grow on carefully cultivated tall bushes and yield significantly larger fruit. Blueberries are juicy and sweet with virtually no seed. They have a rich, floral aroma and a mild sweetness that is balanced with a light hint of acidity. Additionally, they are an excellent source of fiber, manganese, and vitamins C and K.
