Narutomaki is a type of surimi (fishcake) produced in Japan characterized by its spiral pattern. It is meant to resemble the Naruto whirlpools in the Naruto strait between Awaji island and Shikoku. Narutomaki is typically hand sliced and used as a topping for soupy dishes such as ramen, udon, and oden.
