Sakata's Sweets, also known as Taiwanese melons, are a heirloom variety of melon developed in Yokohama, Japan that is flavorful and small in size. They average. 3-4 inches in diameter or about the size of a softball. These melons are superbly sweet with a crisp and crunchy texture that becomes soft and juicy as they ripen with a flavor profile that is a cross between honeydew and Korean melon. Sakata Sweets have a thin green skin that turns yellow-green when ripe.
