Chashu is a Japanese preparation of pork belly that is a variation on Chinese char siu pork. Pork belly is rolled and tied before being slowly cooked to create an tender and flavorful meat that commonly used as a topping for pork ramen or served on its own as a side dish. Chashu is often reheated by using a butane torch but it is equally delicious when seared in a pan or broiled.
