qqlike a blend of cinnamon, brown sugar, and apricots. Hachiya persimmons should only be eaten when fully ripe as unripe fruit are very high in tannins and particularly astringent.
Uses: Hachiya persimmons are best ripened at room temperature and should only be eaten when the fruit is incredibly soft to the touch. Ripening can be sped up by submerging the fruit in uncooked rice.
