This Japanese chili pepper paste is made from carefully selected togarashi peppers. It has a distinctive and aromatic flavor that pairs well with white-fleshed fish, lightly grilled meats, and poultry. This chili can be used much like tabasco: add it into your sauces and dressings for extra flavor. This chili pepper paste is often paired with grated daikon radish to make a condiment called momoji oroshi that is immensely popular as a topping in ramen, sashimi, and fried foods.
Uses: Grate daikon radish and squeeze out any excess water. Mix in chili pepper paste until the daikon is a vibrant red or to taste.
