Cactus pear, also known as cactus fruit, tuna, and prickly pear, are the fruits of the Opuntia ficus-indica. These fruits come in a variety of colors such as red, green, and yellow. They grow as oblong appendages on the leaves of the cactus plant. Cactus pears have a remarkably sweet flavor and floral aroma with ample amounts of juice. They taste like dragon fruit crossed with rose flower. Only the soft flesh on the interior should be eaten with any seeds discarded.
