Yaki onigiri is a traditional Japanese snack made with just a few simple ingredients. Cooked rice is formed into triangle and then slowly grilled over an open flame while being brushed with a savory soy sauce mixture. The resulting rice balls are smokey and crispy on the outside with a soft, slightly sticky interior that is packed with flavor. These rice balls are delicious on their own but is also commonly enjoyed with furikake, umeboshi, mentaiko, and nori.
